I.C.  Management and administration of technology programs at the building, district and regional levels including:
  • planning and utilization of facilities including, budgeting, accounting, and program reporting, grantsmanship, personnel administration, and staff development,

  • preparing presentations for parents, administrators, school boards, and the public,

  • monitoring and evaluating technology plans

Reflection: I feel confident with the management and administration of technology programs after completing GILT 514. This course provided a lot of insight into the work that Instructional Technology Specialists do in order to find and fund new technologies and how schools budget for technology programs. In GDIT 707, I wrote a grant as my final project in order to show growth from my first semester to my last semester in the program.

Rating: Exceeds expectation

Artifacts:

  • By researching and writing a grant for SMALLab technology, I learned about the process of grant
writing and all of its components. The grant proposal shows planning and utilization of
budgeting and accounting. It can be found in the attachments section below.

  • I became proficient using Kidspiration software by creating a concept map and lesson plan.
After discussing the project with some of my colleagues who had never heard of the software,
I taught the group how to use it and all of its features.

  • The extensive technology plan created with three other students demonstrates an understanding of the need for monitoring and evaluation within a school district. There is an evaluation section at the end of the plan as well as a timeline showing the times at which plan evaluation would take place. The plan can be found in the attachments section below. I also had the opportunity to read through other school districts' technology plans and create a voice thread to evaluate some of the critical issues of their plans. A written copy of my voice thread can be found here.

  • This is the grant that I compused during my final semester in the program. As the final project in the GDIT 707, we were instructed to find a way to integrate computational thinking or computer programming into a school setting. I chose to write a grant for The Goddard School since I have worked there for almost three years and felt the most familiar with that setting. The grant is for hardware in order to implement the CS curriculum from code.org.
