II.C.  Selecting, implementing and adapting technology to teaching methodologies, curriculum resources and administrative functions in collaboration with other educators and integrating a variety of software, applications, and learning tools

Reflection: I have learned the best ways to adapt lessons and activities using technology, and I have been able to collaborate with other educators and observe ways that they use technology in their classrooms. In addition, I worked to create synchronous and asynchronous lessons using a variety of technologies.

Rating: Exceeds expectation

Artifacts:

  • I created modifications for students needing enrichment and remediation in my Ellis Island and Immigration Hyperbook. This was my first experience modifying lesson materials for a technology-based lesson.

  • During my field experience in Mrs. Potter's classroom, I was able to observe some of the ways that she integrated various types of technology in her classroom like the SMARTboard, desktop computers, and iPads.

  • For the final project in GILT 631, I created a totally interactive asynchronous lesson for third
grade students. The formal lesson plan can be found here.

  • I also created a synchronous lesson for elementary students about the voyage on the
Mayflower. I presented this lesson to a group of my peers using BlackBoard. I prepared a
presentation on NearPod that was used during the lesson, and I provided links for the
students to visit. The lesson can be found below in the attachments.

  • In GESL 501, I created a lesson with instructional modifications for three students at various
stages of language learning. I used PA academic standards, ISTE standards, and PA ELP
    standards.

  • The Integrated Thematic Unit that I created for GILT 520 meets the needs of a variety of
learners and gives students opportunities to collaborate with their peers in order to
    complete each of the tasks.
