III.D. Communicating effectively with parents/guardians, other agencies and the community at large to support learning by all students
Reflection: I feel as though I can communicate effectively with parents by talking face-to-face or via email, but at the school were I am now, I don't have many opportunities to communicate with parents other than by face-to-face contact. In GILT 631, we learned about different apps and programs like Remind which gives teachers the ability to send texts to parents without revealing contact information. By creating my asynchronous lesson in GILT 631, I made sure to make the directions explicit for the students to allow them to complete the learning by themselves, but I provided contact information to allow communication between both students and parents if the students were struggling.
Rating: Meets expectation

This is the asynchronous lesson that I created which focused on collaboration between home
and school as the students would be completing their lessons largely on their own. The formal
lesson plan can be found here. -
After taking GDIT 705 and learning about multimedia principles in design, I reworked the
above lesson and provided a rationale for the changes.
