  2. Evaluates the effectiveness of his/her actions and interactions with all stakeholders via verbal and non-verbal communication.

  3. Actively seeks current information to support their on-going short- and long-term professional development goals.

  4. Maintains a current level of knowledge of school district, state and federal regulations, policies and professional practices.

Reflection: I would consider myself to exceed the expectation for all four of the competencies above. I have all four of my clearances on file with Duquense University, and these clearances are updated yearly to ensure that everything is as current as possible. It is my job to act in a professional manner at all times, and I strive to be a positive role model for my students. I want my students to be safe at all times, but they should especially feel safe at school. As students become more proficient with the Internet, their access to resources skyrockets. With this comes the problem of inappropriate content on the Internet. An Acceptable Use Policy needs to be in place in order to protect students and staff members from content on the Internet that some may deem unacceptable. I work to further my short-term and long-term professional goals by collaborating with other educators and learning more about technology implementation through memberships in professional organizations. In addition, it was important for me to be aware of school district policies when completing field experiences in my school. I was unable to take pictures of my 515 field because many of the students had "no photo" or "school use only" photo permissions. Though I would have loved to have pictures of my field on file, I had to respect my students' privacy.

Rating: Exceeds expectation
