Reflection: I rated myself as meeting the expectation for the Statutory and Regulatory Compliance competencies since I believe that I could always learn more about the procedures, but I have a solid foundation that was built through the creation of a school district technology plan. My attendance at multiple school board meetings, but especially the meeting that I attended during the GILt 514 course, helped me learn more about how decisions are made within school districts and all of the parts of implementing something new (curriculum & policies) within a district.
Rating: Meets expectation
Artifacts:
-
Through the creation of a collaborative technology plan, I learned more about the specific regulations that a school district must address in order to stay in compliance. If a school district does not meet state or federal mandates, their accreditation could be pulled.
-
I learned more about school district policies after attending a school board meeting for the Seneca Valley School District. By attending this meeting I learned more about the procedures that must be followed in order to implement new programs within the district. This artifact can be found here.
