Reflection: The GILT 540 course has helped me improve immensely as an online teacher and as a teacher overall. I have learned and been reminded of many subjects relating to educational theory and practice during this semester. I have learned something important from each of the tools that I used in order to create my course on Schoology, and even using the LMS Schoology was something brand new to me! I was first introduced to online learning modules in GILT 631. In that course I was required to create an asynchronous lesson. After learning about the importance of multimedia theories and learning theories, I was able to revise the original site to make it better for the learners. Both sites about winter holidays can also be seen below.

To access my Online Course about the solar system, you need to create a free Schoology account. Once you have created your account, you’ll see the word “Courses” on your main page. If you click that button you should see the word “Join.” Clicking the word join will produce a pop-up asking for your Access Code. The access code for my online unit is 5SBVH-WMGKN. Then you can view my entire course!

In addition to my online course, you can view the updated winter holidays site by clicking here. This learning module was based upon another site that I created when I was working toward my IT Specialist certificate.
