-
Participates in site-based federal, state and local legislation, regulations, mandates, policies, and procedures that impact school district operations at macro and micro levels.
Reflection: After completing my field experience at The Goddard School, I recognized the need for additional programs within the school. I worked to write a grant that would seek funding to purchase hardware for the school. This grant looked at the inclusion of technology and its role in promoting computational thinking.
Rating: Exceeds expectation
Artifacts:This is the grant that I wrote to promote the CS curriculum through code.org. I decided to write this grant after seeing the technological skills of the students at the school through my GILT 515 field experience.
-
Performs in the specific roles and responsibilities for adherence/compliance with federal, state and local legislation, regulations, mandates, policies and procedures.
Reflection: In designing my lessons, it was important for me to consider a number of standards including The Goddard School’s F.L.EX. Curriculum standards, Pennsylvania Academic Standards, Common Core standards, and ISTE. Each of these areas were very important to address in figuring out content to teach. I made sure to include at least one ISTE standard and one PA or Common Core standard for every lesson. I also was cognizant of Goddard’s method of teaching with student-centered learning.
Rating: Exceeds expectation
Artifacts:This is the revised student design section that I completed for my unit plan.
-
Assists with the completion of all compliance documentation.
Reflection: The completion of the acceptable use policy shows my ability to complete compliance documentation. Though The Goddard School has its own acceptable use policy in place. It was my job to make sure that I adhered to the acceptable use policy while teaching both my student and staff lessons.
Rating: Meets expectation
Artifacts:This the acceptable use policy that I created.
-
Participates in the school district dissemination of information on regulatory changes to appropriate stakeholders.
Reflection: Writing the grant for the CS curriculum required me to disseminate information to higher administration within the building. After I had composed the grant, I went to the owner of the school to present the information to her and to receive feedback before applying.
Rating: Exceeds expectation
Artifacts:This is the grant that I composed after working at The Goddard School during my GILT 515 field experience.
-
Identifies example(s) of compliance problems and designs alternative actions to resolve targeted compliance issues.
Reflection: In looking for a topic on which to design my grant, I needed to find a problem or a need. It’s certainly not a problem of compliance that preschool students are not learning computational thinking or computer science, but I knew that the students were capable of using the program and it was important to get them introduced to it at a young age. That fueled my design to write a grant on that particular topic.
Rating: Meets expectation
Artifacts:This the grant that I wrote in order to obtain hardware for preschool students to learn about computational thinking and computer programming.
-
Develops and presents plans on the allocation of resources needed to maintain and/or improve compliance.
Reflection: Through the writing of the grant for the CS curriculum, I looked at the hardware and the software that the school had available to its students. I wanted to make sure that I was being accurate in my statement of need. It was important to look at the number of students in each section of the school (preschool, Pre-K, and kindergarten) to make sure that I wasn’t purchasing too many or too few tablets.
Rating: Exceeds expectation
Artifacts: This the grant that I wrote in order to purchase new hardware for The Goddard School.
