V.E. Organizational Leadership
  1. Demonstrates knowledge of all systemic relationships in the organizational chart and their corollary systemic functions.

Reflection: It was important when I planning lessons to make sure that I didn’t come off as “being above” my colleagues during my presentation. I wanted to make sure that each of them were learning something valuable without making myself seem like I was the expert (in a negative way). To do this, I had my colleagues complete surveys on Google Forms to make sure that they were not struggling in areas and to give them more confidence in answering questions.

    Rating: Exceeds expectation

Artifacts: This is the revised design that I created for my professional development session. The links to the surveys can be found in the anticipatory set of the Web 2.0 tools section and at the end of the lesson.

  2. Participates within the defined role of their certification area within the organization to include responsibilities, relationships, constraints, opportunities and resources.

Reflection: When I was designing my lesson content for the staff members, it was important to make sure that the content most closely matched their needs. I took time to look at a variety of Web 2.0 tools and see which would be most applicable to them. Because many of my colleagues are using their current position until they find a position within a district, I wanted to give them a mix of tools that they could use in their current classroom and tools that they could use at a later date.

    Rating: Exceeds expectation

Artifacts: These are the lessons that I designed for the staff professional development sessions.

  3. Identifies a problem within the scope of their certification area and creates and presents a visionary action plan, consistent with the organization and to promote a culture of change; including resolution of conflicts, communication, collaboration, needs assessment and advocacy.

Reflection: Through the creation of the lessons for the professional development session, I looked at tools to help my colleagues make a positive change within their classrooms. Many of my colleagues were wary of using technology in their classrooms because so many of them had not been taught the proper way to use technological tools. I wanted to make my presentation and professional development session as “low-stress” as possible to encourage my colleagues to use the technologies without fear.

    Rating: Exceeds expectation

Artifacts:These are the lessons that I designed for my professional development session, and here are my thoughts, via VoiceThread, on how the session progressed.
